Team CALICO Runner Meghan Arnold
March 20th, 2016 marks the fifth year Meghan Arnold will run with CALICO in the Oakland Running Festival. Meghan runs with Team CALICO because she feels it is important to give a voice to those who don’t always have one and felt running with CALICO was an excellent way to raise awareness about child abuse.
She first learned about CALICO through her high school friend, Marley Degner, who is on the Board of Directors. Through Marley, Meghan joined team CALICO for the first time in 2011 and ran her first half marathon. Since then she has run three additional half marathons and is excited to run her fifth.
When she’s not running, Meghan is an independent marketing consultant specializing in customer engagement through communications, content and community, especially within the creative services industry. She also currently serves on the board of directors for Walk San Francisco and volunteers for San Francisco Design Week and the SF Bike Coalition. As of last year, she accomplished visiting all 50 states by finally making to her last state, Alaska.
After taking a year off from serious running, Meghan knew she wanted to return to her favorite race, the Oakland Half Marathon and feels extra motivated to run because she knows she running for a great cause: CALICO. Join Meghan and all of our CALICO runners on March 20th by registering today!
